Greenville Pallbearers Cemetery Restoration
The Greenville Pallbearers Cemetery is one of the town’s most meaningful historic
landmarks—a resting place for generations of community members, including local leaders,
veterans, and families who helped shape Greenville’s history. Over time, the cemetery had
become overgrown and deteriorated, making it difficult for families to visit loved ones and
putting many of the older markers at risk.
Preserving a Sacred Community Space
Through our Historic Preservation; Cultural Heritage Initiative, the DSR Public Health Foundation partnered with local leaders to help restore the Greenville Pallbearers Cemetery and return it to a condition that reflects the respect and care this site deserves.
Why This Restoration Matters
The work at the Greenville Pallbearers Cemetery reflects DSR Public Health Foundation’s broader commitment to protecting historic and cultural spaces in rural communities. We believe that safeguarding these places strengthens community pride, preserves important local history, and reinforces the shared connections that support overall community well-being.
